On August 6th, 1945, the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, which became the ending of World War II. John Hersey retells this story in Hiroshima by relying on the memories of six survivors. In this book, readers will experience how survivors Miss Toshinki Sasaki, Dr. Masakazu Fujii, Mrs. Hatsuyo Nakamura, Father Wilhelm Kleinsorge, Dr. Terufumi Sasaki, and Mr. Kiyoshi Tanimoto survived the bomb and how the bomb affected their lives and future. Readers will learn how the survivors had to deal with pain, suffering, relationships, and family as John Hersey describes these events in great detail.
