Rubric: 6 points
2 pointsà identify two alternatives
4 pointsà identify two advantages and explain them
Sample 1- I give this person a 5.5/6. First off, his introduction and his first alternative were clearly presented. Describing what protesting is and how it can create awareness earned him full points. His thoughts were clear and concise with complete sentences and valid points. The way he listed advantages of protesting was superb since he listed numerous examples in detail. The second part was also very well written, but sort of started to lose a little bit of steam towards the end. Again, his reasoning was decent as were his examples. I felt he wrote similar sentences except with different wording and also put in a little bit of filler, which was not necessary. Finally, his conclusion was short and right to the point, which was much better than seeing a conclusion full of fluff.
Sample 3- I believe this FRQ deserves a 4.5/6. Although their FRQ was brief, most of the questions were answered. He deserves two points at least for identifying the two alternatives. He deserves two more points for identifying an advantage and explaining it. He receives half a point for identifying another advantage and explaining it because of his insufficient amount of detail for his second explanation. I feel it is perfectly fine if an FRQ is short, as long as the all the information and detail is present. If he had just given a little more explanation for his second advantage, he would have received a 5/6.
