Note: This was an essay written by a 5th grader about being drug free
Do you know anyone who takes drugs? If you do, you must try stop them. To stop them you should tell them that drugs could kill them. Make sure your friends do not take drugs and set an example for others not take drugs. Drugs can hurt them, and if you’re not careful, drugs can hurt you too.
The first reason not to take drugs is because drugs can kill you. You may not notice anything at first. For example, if you smoke your lungs may start having shortness of breath and you may start wheezing. If this happens, you must stop smoking immediately. Smoking is addicting, but you must strongly attempt to stop.
You may not take drugs but your friends might. Make sure your friends do not take drugs. If they do, you must stop hanging out with them. Your friends’ relatives should not take drugs either. You should encourage your friends not to take drugs, too.
The last thing you should do is set an example for others. You should tell your friends that you don’t take drugs. Make not taking drugs sound good to them. Start wearing ribbons saying “I’m Drug Free!” and make posters about not taking drugs. Try to get as many people as possible to help you stop drugs.
Now that you know about drugs, try to stop as many people as possible from taking them. You should stop hanging out with your friends that do take drugs, too. Drugs can really hurt you. And always remember to be drug free!
